Official logos of Russia’s BRICS Presidency and the upcoming Summit

The official logos of Russia's Presidency in the informal group of states BRICS and the upcoming BRICS Summit in Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan on 8-9 July 2015, share a common design solution and define the concept of the Presidency's artistic style.

The logo of Russia's BRICS Presidency is a composition of five rectangular boxes, of its own colour, with the five letters of the BRICS abbreviation. Each box symbolises a BRICS country: Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.

The boxes are of the same shape and size, and their disposition at one level symbolises the equal position in the relations between these countries and their mutual respect and readiness to take an equal part in solving the current issues on the global agenda.

The logo of the upcoming BRICS Summit is a colourful and dynamic design using the same elements as the Presidency logo: the five coloured boxes, one each for the BRICS countries.

In this logo, the boxes overlap each other, which symbolises the close interaction within the BRICS countries and their intention to act together. At the same time, the relative height of the boxes varies. The designer is suggesting that the countries' views may differ but that they still work together, exchange opinions and always try to develop a unified position when taking on global challenges.
